Hey Gang,

We're still in Palm Springs. We stayed up late watching a little beetle/cockroach creature last night. It was shiny and fun to watch. We put her outside and she seemed happier there.

Now we're watching Animal Planet, my favorite, there was an episode about the birth of a baby llama, oh God that was soooo cute, and later we're going to go shopping, and then we'll go see Enough and Beau will play Dance Dance Revolution. I want to buy perfume and look at girlie makeup things. Animal Emergency Vets is on now. I really should work for Discovery Communications, I think that would be a perfect match for me.

I've been working on a childhood memoir. It's been fun but I need to be much more disciplined about it. I never thought of myself as a writer, well, maybe as a poet, because I've been writing poetry since grammar school, but I never took any of it seriously enough. I've never had any training and I don't know how to punctuate. I have good taste and I was a good story analyst, but writing, I never really thought about it too much.

I've always wanted to act too much to really give my writing the attention it deserves. I don't even know where to put commas, as I'm sure many of you have noticed by now. I was thinking maybe we should have a community where people kindly rewrite each other's paragraphs, you know, just to help out. I would love it if someone who is more skilled than I am would take a paragraph of mine and correct the punctuation for me, particularly with regard to my weird comma-girly-ness.

I am HATING using this pokey laptop instead of my groovy super fast system at home. I'm missing DSL, but not as much as I'm missing our cats, the new bunnies and the ratlings. I'm even missing Beau's leopard gecko.

I read an article in the LA Times about broccoli sprouts being really good at preventing and killing off the bacteria that cause ulcers and warding off cancer. I don't even know what broccoli sprouts are, baby broccoli? I want some now.

Okay well, off I go to live this day. Love you guys - Your pal Wacqui

I'm watching Hello He Lied, Stories About Producing From the Hollywood Trenches on AMC, cool, just stumbled into it.

Mom was awful today. Honking her horn at me, waving her imperious arm, shorting the poor guy at the restaurant on his tip, then telling me I need help with math, and wasting twenty minutes trying to prove me wrong over a dollar, no apology when she finally proved me right. Big weary worn out sigh. There's more, there's always more, but I think that's enough for now. I'm always whining about her and nothing changes so I don't want to overburden our delicate Live Journal friendships.

Oh yeay Peyton Place is on and I've never seen it. I want to see Mia Farrow and Lana Turner. I'm eating cashews that are way too salty for me. Hmmm where's Mia Farrow? You know what, I'm thinking this is the movie and there was a television show based on it and she was on the TV version, damn.

Thinking of actresses in film versus their adapted TV versions, does anyone ever wonder what happened to Kristy Swanson who played the original Buffy in the movie Buffy The Vampire Slayer? I sometimes wonder if she was offered the role in the TV version before Sarah Michelle Gellar. (I just did a search and she's been working pretty steadily but just not in big hits, she was in Dude Where's My Car though.)

I wish I could listen to Art Bell tonight. I love my Live Journal friends. Am I the luckiest grrl in the world or what?
