A giant crane dropped a wrecking ball by mistake through the roof of my bank yesterday. There were helicopters buzzing around and we were wondering what they were up to. They're still hovering around today. We're used to the helicopters now, ever since the OJ freeway chase they've become ubiquitous and we know what they mean -- there has to be some kind of news. Imagine being the crane operator. What would you say, "Uhhhhh, oooops?" I don't think anyone was injured, but I only learned about this from my friend who owns the toy store across the street, and I haven't had a chance to watch any news about it. I'm trying to imagine what it would have been like for the people working in the bank, and the customers, would the ball have dropped straight through, or would the ceiliing have made some noise before it gave way? They must have thought it was an earthquake at first, either that or a pretty daring bank heist.
