Here are some pictures of the possums, finally! These are pictures of our boy possum friend who we just call Possum Possum or Mr. Possum.
I put some more possum pictures up for you behind the cut because people seem to prefer it that way.
Doesn't that yawn make him look scary? But he isn't and it's really cute when he yawns. I always think it means that he trusts me because in my experience animals generally don't yawn around you until they trust you.
This last picture is of Mr. Possum's two sisters. The one on the right is the little gal who ran away and was lost in my closet for three weeks. I'm so glad I finally caught her but she's much more agressive than her brother and sister.
I don't want to let these guys go but I know I have to. They're even bigger now than they are in these pictures because I took these before I went to New York. I'm stalling on letting them go but I have a lady who is going to take them and let them go in her yard. I just have to take them to the vet and get one of the girl's leg's checked, she may have the calcium deficiency that home raised possums often get, despite our best efforts, and then I have to make sure we're releasing them into a safe environment : ( I love these little monsters even though they are a lot of work and scratch me when I take them out to clean their cage. They aren't biting me as much any more, yeay. Tonight they licked their calcium laced fruit sauce off of my fingers -- so sweet.
