I need to buy a new digital camera. I've been using a Sony Cybershot. I like it. I've finally gotten used to it and I have a huge collection of memory sticks and finally figured out the speediest way to transfer my images to my computer so I'm not dying to learn a new system and have to buy a different card format. But the Cybershot has this long lag time when I press the shutter release. Sometimes this works to my advantage because I'll catch a weird moment but most of the time I miss important things.
I've been considering a Canon that I saw at Best Buys. I can't remember the model but it was their top of the line SLR and cost a whopping $1,599.00. I would also need to buy the extended warranty and another lens because the one it comes with is just so so. With my Cybershot, my one lens pretty much does it all for me, it gets in really super close and macro for me, and it has a nice tight zoom feature. However the Canon lens is supposed to be better than the Cybershot's Zeiss lens, glass quality wise, and the shutter speed is seriously zippy, it just fires off shots, bam, bam, bam. I've always loved Canons, my very first 35mm was a Canon F1 that my Grandfather gave me. But I'm worrying about whether I'll be able to learn how to use it, and about the cost because it'll cost about twice what the new Cybershot will. So what do you guys think?
